The shares of Hewlett-Packard Co., the US information technology giant, are on a corrective trend at 33.40.
On August 25, the company will present a financial report and, according to preliminary estimates, GAAP earnings are expected in the range of 0.91–0.96 dollars, and earnings per share – in the amount of 0.12 dollars. This optimistic forecast does not coincide with the expectations of leading analysts, who are confident that the loss of the Russian market and the closure of China for quarantine during the next outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic could not but affect financial performance. For example, net earnings per share are projected at 1.04 dollars, and revenue for the quarter is 15.9B dollars, less than in the previous quarter.
The Board of Directors of Hewlett-Packard Co. decided on the next dividend payment, scheduled for October 5, which will be 0.25 dollars per share, which is equivalent to an average return of 2.99% per annum. The share register will be closed on September 14.
The trading instrument is moving within a wide sideways channel, trying to consolidate within an uptrend. Technical indicators are uncertain and do not give a clear signal: fast EMAs of the Alligator indicator are actively approaching the signal line, and the AO oscillator histogram is in the sell zone, approaching the transition level.
